La Poda pays homage to the art of vine growing
15 de February de 2018
Almudena Alberca, Bodegas Viña Mayor's Technical Director and the spirit behind this range, was present at the event, leading attendees through a guided tasting to explain the particular characteristics of these wines to various press, influencers, critics and clients, as well as some of Spain's leading sommeliers.
Looking after the vine, expressing typical varietal characteristics, obtaining healthy and high quality fruit. "La poda" is Spanish for “pruning”: a technique aimed at obtaining the finest grapes to produce the very best, most genuine wines. As such, we invited event attendees to take part in an enjoyable "Live Pruning Workshop" with field hands from Bodegas Viña Mayor, allowing them to understand, first hand, the keys to this viticultural art.
Fresh and up-to-date, the La Poda wines are ideal for drinking by the glass, taking advantage of the wide pairing possibilities that the different varieties offer. La Poda is a unique collection of wines that, with the recent launch of La Poda Albariño, takes a journey around four of Spain's most emblematic Designations of Origin: Rías Baixas, Rueda, Ribera del Duero and Toro, allowing you to discover them in their most contemporary guises.
